Today, 24 June 2016, will for ever more be Independence Day for the United Kingdom because its citizens in a free election withdrew from the 28 country European Union. They did this because they said they are tired of bad trade agreements not of their making, tired of unchecked immigration flowing into their country, and they want borders. In other words, they want to once again be a sovereign nation creating their own rules and answerable to no one but themselves. If this sounds familiar, that would be because its the very same reason We in a act of defiance declared Our independence from the United Kingdom in the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson, on 4 July 1776. It’s also the platform Donald J. Trump, presumptive Republican nominee, is running on; creating a sovereign nation with borders that makes wiser trade agreements.
Coincidentally, Mr. Trump was in Turnberry, Scotland with his two sons and one daughter for the ribbon cutting ceremony at his newest golf club, and Press from the United Kingdom appeared at site to interview him, and solicit his opinion on their decision. He gave it a thumbs up saying he was all for borders and free trade, and an hour later the Prime Minister of United Kingdom, David Cameron, in a temper tantrum, much like the Democrats at the Capitol throwing a sit down strike over the defeated gun control Bills, announced he would be stepping down from power in three months because he would not be the one to officially sever the tie. Shame on him. Our President, Mr. Obama, who took the bust of Winston Churchill out of the oval office, released a statement that said We support the voters, and still consider the United Kingdom a trading partner. Let’s be brutally honest here; without the United Kingdom there is no European Nation but a bunch of little countries wondering where the umbrella flew to.
Can we compare this to anything in Our 2016 Presidential Election? We can but be hopeful, but imagine this scenario. On a sunny day down the road, the United States shakes free of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the agreement signed into effect by President Clinton on 8 December 1993 which plunged the industrialized States of America into total collapse. Now that would totally be a great day.
Support Trump to make our Nation great again.
